Phew, it's been a busy one! Tins are finally here at Oni - you can now buy our classic rice spice mixes in an all-black metal tin that's going to look amazing in your pantry. I'm pretty happy with how these look, and even more happy with the logistics side of things.
I'm keeping our free shipping guarantee - for those of you that don't know, that's free Canada-wide shipping on orders of $10+, free US shipping on orders of $25+, and free international shipping on orders of $50+ (all in Canadian dollars). I think this is pretty impressive for a small business that's just starting out, especially now that we are graduating from small, flat, spice bags that fit in envelopes, to larger and boxier tins. It took a good bit of number crunching but I'm happy with where we're at. Free shipping forever!!!!!!!
It's also the start of farmers' market season here in Ottawa, which means things are just that much busier. For those of you interested in attending, here's my schedule for the next few weeks:
- Saturday May 25, June 1, June 15, and June 22 from 9am to 2pm - The Log Farm (Barrhaven) [no rice waffles unfortunately 😔]
- Sunday, May 26, June 2, June 16, and June 23 from 12pm to 4pm - Kemptville Farmers' Market
Kemptville and Carleton Place will be my two main markets this year, but I'll be at others like The Log Farm and Stittsville sporadically. I'm really looking forward to having a full season and getting to talk to lots of wonderful people like yourselves! I also feel like I'm juggling a million things and trying to make sure I don't drop anything. But I have a feeling it's going to be a good summer full of rice 😁
